Huge respect and gratitude to V Hinkle: she gets back to Olasiti every summer - introducing new travelers and teachers to the wonders of Tanzania and engaging them to help the orphans. Thanks to her for our great up-to-date website, now our new blog spot, and the steady flow of donations - which often come from her youngest students. She's helping them learn the habit, and feel the rewards of generosity towards friends half a world away who need so much. Asante sane, V - and bon voyage ! Travel safely and send us more great pictures and stories.

Mrs. Hinkle has done a wonderful job! She is an amazing influence and helps the children with a full heart. Every day she leaves the campsite and makes her way through the village to the orphan center where she spends her time teaching English to her students. These children are very eager to learn. The language barrier was hard on all of us, but she taught her classes by using her knowledge of Swahili to the highest level.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Hinkle has a very memorable personality. She never fails to exceed expectations. When ever we walked through the village her many friends would wave and greet her. She has become a major part of the lives of these orphans. In Tanzania the term orphan means a child who has lost one or more parents, so many or these children still have family members who are willing to take care of them. The children come to the orphan center to receive an education. Many of these children are not in line for an education in their new families.
Meeting these children has been a life changing experience for all of us!
Thank You for letting my father and I be a part of these children's lives.
Kudos to Mrs. Hinkle
V works tirelessly, with passion and vision. She is an inspiration to us all.
